Chirk Fishery is a fly only complex
that is made up of three pools plus a stretch of the River
Ceiriog. Whilst this is a day ticket venue BMAC members can fish there
on their club book.
Pool one is primarily a childrens
pool, whilst Oak Pool and Bridge Pool are for the more skilled. All the
pools are well stocked with a variety of trout. However if you are a
complete novice you can receive tuition in all aspects of fly fishing
from Gwilym Hughes (paid for) or I am sure the fishery will give free
advice. The fishery also has a limited supply of tackle which you can
hire. The cost of tuition could be amortised if a party of five could
go together. Gwilym can be contacted on 07889 423986.
To fish Chirk you will have to make
a booking directly to the fishery 01691 772420 showing your membership
book and the appropriate E.A. licence on arrival.
The fishery is set just over the
border from England, situated some five miles from Oswestry,
twenty miles from Chester and eight mile from Llangollen and is on the
B4500 at Chirk.
