2012 is set to be a great year for the club with restocking and new waters a plenty!
Members may be aware of the program to restock the Meridian Canal at the Border Fisheries complex but that is just a small part of an extensive restocking program that should see all our still waters benefiting from an injection of new fish of one species or another. Both Dovehouse and Willow Bed pools in particular will be subject to an extensive restocking program.
The club is always looking to expand its portfolio of waters and to this end three new pools will be dug in the Jodrell Bank area.
Two further new waters will be opening this year with the first, at Ollerton nr Knutsford, opening in within the next three weeks. The other water, in the Chelford area, will be available to members later in the year.
Just to let everyone know that Valley Pool is open once more, Can I also reiterate to all members that All Rubbish must be removed when you leave a club water as there have been numerous instances recently of rubbish being left on the bank and discarded into the water, This is not acceptable and any member found to be responsible for this will be dealt with in the appropriate manner by the committee.Actions like this can potentially cause landowners to end our agreement so it is to all members advantage to adhere to this simple request

River Dane Bailiffs Urgently Required
We are currently in need of volunteers to act as bailiffs on our stretch’s of the River Dane anyone interested in these positions could you please contact Mr Pete Merry via Border Fishery on 01270 820812
Many Thanks
Stacey,s Pool
You may have heard that we have suffered a number of fish deaths recently on Stacey’s at Border.
We have had samples of the lake water analysed and the results of those tests indicated that the water itself is not the cause of the problem.
It appears that the fish may be dying from the same condition that affected the water over the 2010/11 winter but we cannot confirm that at this stage.
Whilst investigations are continuing I’m sure you’ll appreciate that it is best for the water to remain closed to all angling.
Regards
Stewart Godber
Border Fisheries Manager
