Enjoy your fishing to the full with Bay Malton Angling Club

River Dee

We are pleased to announce the club has acquired two stretches of the River Dee in Holt, North Wales, These stretches are easy to access and contain a wide variety of fish including Barbel, Dace, Chub, Roach, Bream, Pike, Perch, Eels, Salmon, Trout and sea trout. This stretch is accessed directly from the A534 Nantwich to Wrexham road. There is parking directly in front of our stretch on either the hard-standing or on the grass verge please do not block either the track or the gateway’s as access is needed at all times by the landowner, Please also ensure all rubbish is taken home with you to be disposed of. Please read your club card for all relevant rules that apply to our water ’s.

To access this water, you leave the A534 approx 3-400m after you have crossed the bridge into Wales this road is signposted Holt/ Rossett, proceed through the village for about half a mile then take the right turning into Dee Lane,
After about 50m you will reach a junction go straight ahead here again down Dee Lane this track will take you under the bridge you came over originally 5 minutes beforehand, The fishing along this short stretch is free fishing.
Proceed a couple of hundred metres along the track and you will come to a field and gateway, you can park anywhere in this area as long as the track and gateway are left free for access.

Our stretch is the one directly in front of you through the gate. The postcode for Dee lane is LL13 9YT
The track continues on to the right here if you wish to drive up here to the top of the lane there is parking for a couple of cars here on the verge, again the gateway must be kept clear though, This track can get muddy though and is probably best avoided in bad weather.

Our next stretch is through the gateway at the top of this lane you then walk to your left and you will see the river once more, this stretch of approx 400m is leased to another club so please be aware of this ,our stretch start’s in the next field and covers nearly a mile over the two fields ,You can also access the top of stretch one from this lane via a gateway at the top left-hand corner of this lane.

One final point please bear in mind when you are fishing this water that you are representing the club and we want to show us in a good light and prove to the landowner we are worthy of his trust ,this arrangement can potentially be a very long-term one if we follow these few simple rules and behave in the correct manner so please everyone No blocking the lane or gateway and no litter .

Enjoy this new water everyone and I hope you have many happy days on there in the future.
