Valley pool
September 24th 2006
First
outing as
new members of BMAC and we choose to fish Valley. Weather looked
really good for September until the afternoon when the heavens
opened.
I fished the peg at the side of the boat and had a good mixed
bag of crucian, skimmers, roach, rudd, bream and 1 carp around 4
1/2 lbs. Most fell to worm pieces fished over hemp and chopped
worm & maggot on the pole.
Ian fished the peg immediately to the right of me, again on
the pole. Fishing a combination of meat and corn over a bed of
small halibut pellet soaked in a sweet, sticky additive. Ian only
got 7 bites all day but apart from 1 rudd, every other fish was a
cracker. A tench of about 3 1/2 Lbs and the rest common and
mirror carp with the 9 Lbs fish in the picture being the best.
All good fun on a number 6 elastic!
Immediately to the right of Ian was another member ( Nigel
??) who fished the pole also between the bank and the island in
front of him. He had a good bag of nice tench.
Regards,
Kevin J Vogt.
